The Purse Hook (aka Purse Tail, Purse Hanger, Handbag Hanger, Handbag Clip) is not a new invention.

It was invented in the 1920s and considered a glamorous accessory for Victorian women who mingled in High Class Society.

Purse Hooks made a comeback at the beginning of the Noughties (2000 onwards).  Since then they have grown in popularity.

Who are we?

Pursetails was established in 2008 by a gal who was obsessed with handbags.  On discovering the purse hook a year previously it became her new best friend over night.  Perplexed that the purse hook had not already hit the market in the UK, she decided to set up her own company and spread the word.

Purse Tails has researched the range of purse hooks available and only purchases the highest quality, most durable and elegant clips.  Purse Tails are always interested in expanding our range and welcome any suggestions for designs.

We endeavour over time to add even more products to our website in order to create the ultimate shop for women's accessories.

A Purse Hook is a portable functional clip that you can hang from a table or bar to hold your handbag, scarf, umbrella, shopping bags, briefcase etc.  A good quality purse hook can hold up to 10-12lb (5-6kg).  Purse hooks come with their own velvet pouch to keep them safe in your bag.  As most purse hooks fold flat they do not take up much room, even in the smallest of bags.
